TomorrowNow, a climate tech non-profit, seeks a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to support its NOAA Africa Initiative, which aims to revolutionize climate reanalysis and enhance meteorological capacities across East and Southern Africa. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to critical climate resilience efforts in regions where access to high-quality climate data is vital for hazard forecasting, agricultural planning, and public health. About the Role:
As the Project Manager for the TomorrowNow NOAA Initiative, you will oversee the development of next-generation climate reanalysis data as well as in-country capacity development initiatives. You will work under the guidance of the Director of Climate Resilience and in collaboration with an array of stakeholders across two key regions: East Africa (Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Ethiopia, Somalia, Djibouti) and Southern Africa (Mozambique, Zambia, Malawi).
Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Spearhead the project to ensure timely achievement of milestones and deliverables while maintaining budget discipline.
- Strategic Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, integrating schedules, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with partners, regional coordinators, and meteorological departments to ensure project alignment with local needs.
- Capacity Building: Support the execution of training programs to enhance the utilization of climate reanalysis data by meteorological departments.
- Reporting: Publish written reports to satisfy grant program requirements and provide internal updates, as needed for the project.
Who You Are:
- Experienced in project management, ideally in climate science, meteorology, or related fields.
- A natural leader with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage complex projects.
- Skilled in communication and collaboration, capable of engaging effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Adaptable and flexible, able to travel within East and Southern Africa for training and capacity-building efforts.

Location and Travel:
- Preference will be given to candidates based in East or Southern Africa due to the proximity to project sites.
- This remote position offers the flexibility to work from your chosen location within the specified regions,
- The position will require frequent traveling to seven East and Southern African countries
