What we are looking for
We are looking for a Senior Partnerships Manager based in Sub-Saharan Africa. The ideal candidate will manage our relationship with approximately 1-3 organizations, gaining deep insights and assisting them in projects—either with the support of our technical staff or third-party service providers. Your main task will be to prepare these organizations to create verifiable impact at scale, benefiting millions of children.
What does the job involve
- Building out our pipeline of potential partners and supporting the diligence process. This includes;
- Field visits to see operations and their outcomes.
- Interviews with staff, leading external experts and peers.
- Rigorous review of internal systems, documents, and impact data.
- Identify barriers to impact at scale with your partner organization(s).
- Scope and deliver projects – either yourself or through a third party service provider – to solve challenges and unlock growth opportunities.
- Engage in regular strategic conversations with organizations to ensure they are on track, and that we are able to support them in what they do best.
- Ensure we always have access to the most important data and information about your partner organization(s).
- Partner with other officers on internal and external projects that could impact the broader cohort;
- For example, bringing together leaders from multiple organizations to workshop specific opportunities and challenges.
- Facilitate trials to accelerate promising new technologies or programmatic improvements across the cohort.
- Fulfill any additional work to ensure we are fulfilling all key activities necessary to run our fund;
- For example, supporting a specific donor request or researching new Government initiatives.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in building or scaling teams, preferably in the Education sector, and possess a deep understanding of working through government systems.
- Proven ability to lead individuals without direct authority. You leverage interpersonal skills, relationship-building, and diverse perspectives to achieve desired outcomes.
- This role involves travel and on-the-ground support- Must be open to up to 30% of traveling internationally to partner locations.
