Key Responsibilities

As the Field Sales Manager, your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Team Building and Development:
    • Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team of commission-based sales agents.
    • Develop clear sales strategies and lead-generation initiatives to drive performance.
  2. Sales Support and Training:
    • Support sales agents in effectively pitching products to customer groups, such as chamas (community savings groups).
    • Identify the training needs of the sales team and collaborate with the company’s Sales Training Team to implement training programs.
  3. Inventory Management:
    • Oversee the management of sales agents’ inventory and resolve any audit discrepancies as per the sales inventory policy.
    • Ensure that field agents receive adequate stock in a timely manner by liaising with local shop administrators.
  4. Reporting and Analysis:
    • Provide regular reports on sales initiatives and team performance to the Area Sales Manager.
    • Monitor market trends, customer behavior, and competitor activities, sharing insights with management to inform strategy.
  5. Customer Engagement:
    • Follow up with customers who are behind on loan repayments, ensuring a proactive approach to maintaining good relationships and encouraging timely payments.

Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  1. Experience:
    • A minimum of four years of experience in sales or micro-finance.
    • Proven experience working in rural areas is required.
  2. Management Skills:
    • Demonstrated experience in recruiting and managing commission-based sales agents.
    • Strong leadership abilities and excellent interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative team environment.
  3. Strategic Thinking:
    • Ability to think strategically, plan effectively, and manage resources to achieve defined outcomes.
  4. Educational Background:
    • A college diploma is required, while a degree in a relevant field will be considered an advantage.
