Role Overview: As a volunteer M&E Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting Fay Institute of eLearning’s mission to advance educational excellence and innovation. You will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive monitoring and evaluation frameworks for projects focused on enhancing teacher professional development initiatives, with a particular emphasis on areas such as foundational learning, green skills, digital skills, and gender-transformative pedagogy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop robust M&E plans and frameworks aligned with project objectives and Fay Institute’s strategic goals.
  • Design and implement data collection tools and methodologies to gather quantitative and qualitative data on project progress and impact.
  • Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate data collection.
  • Conduct regular data analysis and interpretation to assess project performance, progress, and impact.
  • Prepare periodic monitoring reports, highlighting key findings, achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Integrate monitoring data and findings into project decision-making processes and implementation strategies.
  • Conduct mid-term and final evaluations to assess the overall impact and achievements of projects.
  • Build the capacity of project staff and partners in monitoring and evaluation activities.
  • Contribute to the dissemination of lessons learned and best practices from monitoring and evaluation activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in monitoring and evaluation, statistics, social sciences, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation frameworks for educational or professional development projects. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills.
  • Proficiency in using statistical software and data visualization tools.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • Knowledge of gender-sensitive monitoring and evaluation approaches.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation best practices in the education sector.
  • Fluency in relevant languages for the project’s geographic scope.
