About the Company:
Fargo Courier (https://www.fargocourier.co.ke) is looking to hire a Head of IT for their operations in East Africa. The organization works extensively with a multitude of local and multinational corporate entities and individuals, offering scalable and flexible 3PL supply chain solutions for all their business needs. They currently operate out of 140 branches in Kenya and Uganda and has a self-owned 650-strong vehicle fleet and a staff base of over 3,000 personnel. The company offers its customers a host of services across multiple business lines such as security services (technology and manpower) for cash in transit, cash vaults, vehicle tracking, contract logistics, freight forwarding, customs clearance, and last-mile transportation. The group potentially owns the largest fleet of vehicles in Kenya.
About the Role:
The Head of IT’s responsibilities include leading software roll-outs for the company, managing employees within the IT department, liaising with other departments to ascertain their technological requirements, and developing and implementing solutions that meet these requirements. This role would report to the Group Operations Director and play a strategic role in the growth and vision of the IT Department within the organization. The role is to be based out of Nairobi, Kenya. The salary offered will be commensurate with a candidate’s experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technology enhancement to take the organization from manpower-intensive operations to a semi-auto-driven stage.
- Lead IT software roll-outs for the company with a focus on logistics, warehouse management, transportation, and security, and have a deep knowledge of the finance and controlling side.
- Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by the company’s broader management team
- Oversee the adherence of policies with internal IT compliances as well as external compliances with relevant laws, guidelines, and regulations imposed by external governments, industries, and organizations
- Lead the development of logistics and security-related apps for the company
- Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts
- Coordinating IT activities to ensure data availability and network services with as little downtime as necessary
Does this sound like you?
- You have at least 10+ years of professional experience, in a supply chain organization with a strong track record of leading software roll-outs and managing the finance and controlling side as well.
- You have a deep understanding of the logistics, warehousing, and security industry and specialize in implementing Warehouse Management and Transportation Management Systems and are ideally deeply familiar with the SAP4Hana with Fiori analytics as well as Warehouse Management and Transportation Management Systems.
- You have led the setup of both hardware and software IT infrastructure and have led change management initiatives.
- You can lead a multi-cultural, geographically distributed team and have experience dealing with international stakeholders and clients.
- You are ideally a professional with majority experience in the Indian logistics, warehousing, and security industry and are willing to relocate to Nairobi, Kenya.
