What You’ll Be Doing
Job Scope: Generally responsible for performing all aspects of project management for moderately complex engineering project assignments ensuring total delivery of the services on time, within performance budget and quality expectations. This work will be performed under minimal supervision.
Primary Responsibilities Will Include But Are Not Limited To
- Becoming familiar and utilizing department standards.
- Becoming familiar with project scope, specifications and design criteria upon assignment to a task.
- Responsible for technical contractual activities on one or more projects of various sizes.
- Responsible for promoting continuing relations with the client.
- Responsible for field construction efforts, design phase services and all subcontracting as well as participating in all major technical, cost, scheduling and performance decisions.
- Recognize and communicate scope and design changes promptly.
- Provide on-site assistance during startup.
- Coordinate work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead.
- Consulting with design leaders from other disciplines to ensure the smooth flow of vital information necessary for the scheduled completion of the project.
- Advising the senior engineer concerning design or scope changes, which have been identified.
- Reviewing and checking vendor drawings and other discipline drawings for input.
- Reviewing construction specifications.
- Reviewing fabrication drawings and other construction submittals for conformance to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Maintain coordination with all team members for information, specific job scope and efficient design.
- Actively cooperate with members of your project team, client personnel and members of your department.
- Perform all work to the best of your ability and in an expedient and efficient manner.
- Make a particular point of establishing a mutually respectful professional as well as personal relationship with key client personnel with whom you interact.
- Understand client expectations, as determined by the team, and constantly strive to achieve or better these.
- Meet commitments that you make to the client, individually or as a team, to complete work by certain dates or within agreed man-hour or cost budgets.
- Produce work without unnecessary errors.
- Do not compromise safety in design or in the field.
- Look for ways to reduce project costs and schedule and for ways to improve our work process.
- Be positive and respectful in everything you say about the client or Hargrove & Associates, Inc. or their personnel.
- Contribute time to the betterment of the company through activities such as preparation of standard specifications, improved work processes or methods, training of others in the department, participation in proposal efforts, production of technical papers, etc.
Ideal Background
Education: Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Civil Engineering from an accredited university is preferred. Certification: Professional Engineering and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) registration is highly preferred.
Experience: This position requires up to 10 years of relevant experience in engineering and project management.
- Knowledge of the Hargrove project execution procedures.

- Demonstrated proficiency in complex project management.
- Ability to lead a team to deliver on commitments.
- A comprehensive understanding of the function of all engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction processes.
