Job Purpose
As a Cost Accountant at Vivo Fashion Group, you will play an essential role in the production division, ensuring that the company maintains cost efficiency and optimal production workflows. You will be responsible for analyzing production costs and collaborating closely with various teams, including finance and production, to drive cost optimization and standardize cost management practices across the organization. This position will require a keen understanding of cost accounting principles, advanced analytical skills, and a focus on improving the overall costing framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Framework Development:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive costing framework across all production cost centers, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
- Standardize the processes for calculating material costs, labor, and overhead across multiple divisions.
- Cost Standards Management:
- Collaborate with the production team to set and update cost standards for various production activities.
- Continuously monitor cost factors and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Cost Analysis and Reporting:
- Provide detailed cost analysis to support pricing decisions and ensure that production remains cost-effective.
- Track and analyze in-house fabric printing costs, including ink, labor, and machine maintenance costs.
- Production Expense Tracking:
- Monitor production costs, identifying opportunities for cost reduction in areas such as waste, scrap, and rework costs.
- Implement initiatives to reduce inefficiencies and streamline production workflows.
- Audit Preparation and Compliance:
- Prepare cost reports and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation related to production costs.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Implement and review cost management tools, recommending and driving continuous improvements in cost accounting practices.
- Analyze production outputs and work to optimize the efficiency of the production workflow.
Key Skills and Competencies
- Strong attention to detail in all aspects of cost analysis.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex financial data.
- Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with the production and finance teams.
- Proven track record of working with ERP systems and accounting software to enhance costing processes.
- Ability to identify opportunities for cost optimization and suggest solutions that will drive financial efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification preferred.
- At least 4 years of experience in cost accounting, particularly in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and accounting software is essential.
- Demonstrated experience in managing production costs and improving financial processes.
