Strategic Sourcing Manager (Africa market – Garment & Lingerie) @ Hop Lun
Key Purpose of the Job
The role is located at Kenya, which involves managing relationships with outsourcing plants to ensure production requirements are met, adhering to company and customer standards, and ensuring on-time delivery of quality products. The role also focuses on monitoring supplier performance, ensuring compliance with processes, and driving continuous improvement in production and efficiency.
Responsibilities
Responsible for formulating and implementing the outsourcing strategy to ensure deliverables as per set requirements and standards
- Act as Lead Buyer and Team Leader for the execution of global sourcing activities for Manufacturing Services Categories
- Study the sales and functional strategies / objectives (for example, strategic sourcing, risk mitigation, supplier relationship, AOP objectives) and company functional objectives (for example, AOP Sales, SMV Cost, OTD, Quality, business deliverables).
- Coordinate with the sales teams to understand requirements for outsourcing in terms of design and capacity, develop projection plan based on sales team input.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (Sales, Merchandizing and Finance) on financial arrangements (negotiations) and ensure Outsourcing SMV costs are as per the budgeted expenses when onboarding facilities.
- Study and understand the outsourcing plant production line from the point of view of cost effectiveness, turnaround time, ability to produce different styles/ product lines, periodically.
- Review past performance of outsourcing factories to ensure expected standard product, operational capability in the production process.
- Conduct audits in outsourcing units to assess compliance to statutory requirements and quality standards.
- Coordinate with Corporate Legal teams in preparing and legal contracts; Facilitate signing of contracts and documents with senior management and outsourcing units.
Educational and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma specializing in Production or Textile & Clothing Engineering.
- Qualifications in Management Accounting and Finance will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in production, outsourcing, planning and supply chain in Africa
