Position Summary
Loras College announces a full-time, tenure track, Assistant Professor of Engineering position. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and teach courses in controls, robotics, and automation, as well as electives in his or her area of expertise. Candidates should also demonstrate a willingness to teach in the general education curriculum at Loras, provide academic advising to students, supervise undergraduate research, and engage in scholarship in any of the four areas defined by Ernest Boyer.
Education And Experience
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in electrical or computer engineering, or a Ph.D, in a related field, such as mechanical or aerospace engineering, with experience in control systems, microcontrollers, and robotics. Commitment to teaching excellence is expected. Demonstrated excellence in teaching is preferred. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of and a willingness to communicate current trends in the field to students and a variety of other constituencies is also highly desirable. Candidates will be expected to support the mission of the College and respect the College’s Catholic tradition.
Compensation
Commensurate with qualifications, education and experience.
