Job Description

  • Develop and implement strategies for the food and beverage department to achieve the organization’s financial and operational goals.
  • Monitor and review the product quality and service standards in the food and beverage department • Manage and forecast budget requirements, inventory, and costs.
  • Conduct all required inspections according to hotel management policies.
  • Develop checklists and relevant documents for food and beverage service outlets.
  • Ensure administrative and operational procedures comply with standard operating procedures.
  • Review client feedback at each F&B meeting and take corrective action.
  • Ensure the food and beverage team adheres to control procedures as per the hotel management manuals.
  • Ensure the team maintains up-to-date records, uniforms, and necessary resources.
  • Maintain hygiene and proper food presentation in the hotel.
  • Approve requests within the department.
  • Develop and review food and beverage standard operating procedures.
  • Represent the company’s interests, minimizing costs and maximizing revenue.
  • Research and implement new food and beverage products and services.
  • Foster an environment for staff innovation and creativity in food and beverage services.
  • Offer a variety of products catering to changing client preferences and tastes.
  • Provide thorough inductions and onboarding for new employees.
  • Keep staff informed and updated on hotel operations and activities.
  • Lead the F&B team by attracting, recruiting, training, and appraising talented personnel for career growth.
  • Coordinate with the sales and marketing team to promote the hotels food and beverage services.
  • Stay informed about trends and innovations in the food and beverage industry.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage Management, or related field preferred.
  • Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in food and beverage management in a hotel setting, with at least 2 years in a similar role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Opera Systems, POS and other food & beverage management software is required.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
