The Transplant Application Scientist shall be experienced and have an adequate education to fulfill the position.
Reporting to the Technical Field Manager EMEA the Transplant Application Scientists constitute the field technical support team for CareDx lab products. Operating mainly in the Middle East and Africa, you will generate interest for CareDx’s transplant diagnostic product portfolio through efficient product demonstrations, promotion and by providing excellent technical support on-site and remotely. The Transplant Application Scientist works closely with the sales team to generate and maintain sales of CareDx’s transplant diagnostic product portfolio and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
You will interface with key opinion leaders, clinicians, HLA lab directors, supervisors and technologists. As a member of the CareDx team, you will also contribute insights and customer feedback to CareDx R&D to support new product developments and improvements to existing products.
This role is within the global commercial organization and a broad CareDx team will be supporting your success, including Marketing, Medical Affairs, Research & Development, Regulatory and Finance.
The successful Transplant Application Scientist has deep technical knowledge of NGS and is a self-starter who brings technical expertise combined with strong communication skills and business savvy. Expertise in HLA typing is an advantage. You are highly flexible and motivated to exceed objectives. Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site as well as remote product demonstrations and presentations, technical training for customers and distributors, handle questions and provide excellent support for CareDx reagents/kits, software and hardware
- Focus of this position will be the Middle East and Africa, but excellent support of customers in Europe and Asia will also be required to a varying and substantial extent
- Develop and maintain expert-level knowledge of current and launch-phase products
- Establish credibility with leading HLA lab directors and other members of the laboratory team
- Work closely with the sales team to prioritize account growth
- Travel to national/international meetings and workshops as required
- Prepare and present impactful company presentations in a professional manner
- Prepare presentations or contribute to other marketing collaterals as required
- Work with customers and internal functional teams to pro-actively and creatively resolve technical issues with the utmost sense of urgency
- Keep up to date on market dynamics and competition, identify barriers to clinical and commercial uptake and propose solutions
- Company expert on CareDx products and lab workflow
- Market expert on HLA, genomics, NGS and related software and laboratory technologies
Qualifications:
- Passion for improving patient outcomes in transplantation
- Results oriented – has track record for delivering results, takes ownership and is accountable
- A desire to work in a high growth and results-oriented, international team environment
- PhD or M.Sc with 3+ years equivalent clinical/research experience, or B.Sc with 10+ years equivalent research experience in molecular biology, biotechnology, genomics or similar
- 2+ years of Experience as Field Application Scientist or in an equivalent position
- International work or private experience, preferably in the Middle East and Europe or US.
- Knowledge of NGS technologies (hands on experience on both library preparation and sequencing, especially on the Illumina platforms). Experience in NGS automation is advantageous
- Expertise in HLA typing is advantageous.
- Must be highly self-motivated and able to perform tasks and achieve goals with minimum supervision
- Strong communication and detailed follow-up skills
- Home office based, must be willing to travel 50% or greater
- Must be willing to travel to all countries in the Middle East and Africa, but also to Europe and Asia.
- Strong data analysis skills; ability to form data-driven insights

- Languages: English (proficient level)
